Due to the heat, the railway company prefers to cancel certain journeys that were to be made on old Coral trains between Tuesday 12 August and Friday. The result of decades of too little investment, according to the CFDT and the FNAUT.
The passengers will be warned. Due to the heat, the SNCF has decided to cancel several Intercity trains originally scheduled between Tuesday 12 August and Friday 15 August.
Philippe Tabarot stressed a "unglorious" decision of the SNCF but "realistic and cautious in relation to the condition of the equipment today".
Some trains had already been abolished in recent days because of the high heat. This measure "is intended to prevent potential air-conditioning breakdowns due to very high temperatures", explains the railway group.
