Weather France places the Morbihan in a warm orange alert (level 3 of 4) as of this night from Monday 25 to Tuesday 26 May 2026 at midnight.
The episode of hot heat continues on Monday 25 May in France. Météo France has placed eight departments of western France in heat orange vigilance, from Finistère to la Mayenne. Never a heat orange vigilance had been emitted by the meteorological institute so early in the year.
The previous temperature record in May is beaten by this Pentecost Monday, and the heat wave will intensify again.
The departments in heat alert are not necessarily those where it is hottest: the warning thresholds take into account the habits of each territory, the duration and the local context. This explains the unique vigilance of Finistère, on Sunday, and the switch to orange in Brittany from Tuesday.
