On Wednesday 25 February, MEPs adopted the two texts which were put to the vote on the end of life. These are the votes of MEPs in Morbihan, Ille-et-Vilaine, Côtes-d'Armor and Finistère.
MEPs adopted for the second time this Wednesday, by 299 votes to 226, the bill creating a new right to help die, but the final adoption of the text is still uncertain.
The law establishing a right to help die was adopted on Wednesday with 299 votes in favour, against 226. MPs also unanimously adopted the text on the development of palliative care, less one vote.

On Wednesday 25 February 2026, the deputies were to vote for the second reading of the bill on aid to die. At the first reading, 305 deputies had voted in favour, 199 against and 57 abstained. For the second reading, the figures are quite similar: 299 voted in favour of the bill, 226 against and 37 abstained. The Members had previously rejected the contested amendment, which facilitated the use of a caregiver to exercise this right to assist in dying, and the text was voted by a very large majority by 299 votes to 226.
