HBL PSL 12 to return with eight teams

  • On Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League will run from March 18 to May 2, 2027, retaining its expanded eight-team format for a second successive season.
  • This upcoming season builds on the expanded 2026 campaign, which introduced the league's first player auction and culminated in Peshawar Zalmi defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen for the title.
  • "We are committed to delivering another outstanding season," PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, noting that PSL 11 set a high benchmark with record crowds and broadcasts.
  • PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer said preparations are underway, adding that "Direct signings, retentions, the trade window and the auction will each bring their own excitement in the months ahead."
  • The PCB will announce specific match schedules, venues, and ticketing arrangements in due course, following consultations with franchise owners at a September 1 meeting in London.

The 12th season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) will once again clash with IPL in 2027. PCB has fixed the window for PSL 12 from March 18 to May 2. The event was also discussed in January-February, but due to fog in Punjab and important tournament matches during Ramadan, the majority remained in favour of the March-May window.
