Several dogs died or fell ill in a few hours near Lake Pelleautier, in the Hautes-Alpes. Contamination is suspected, or poisoning.
At least five dogs fell ill this weekend, two died in less than an hour. They had bathed in Lake Pelleautier in the Hautes-Alpes. Convulsions, vomiting, hypersalivation, loss of consciousness... several owners noted these symptoms on their pet after swimming since this weekend.
The managers of the Lake Pelleautier campsite have identified at least five sick dogs after swimming in the water in recent days. Two canids have died on Sunday. A gendarmerie investigation is under way.
