The Defense Ministry on Thursday started work to knock down the former Badminton arena in central Athens, which was built for the 2004 Olympics and reinvented as a successful music and theater venue before falling into decline.
After years of pending construction, the Badminton Theater in Goudi is headed for demolition, with work already begun by the Ministry of National Defense.
The Badminton building in Goudi is being demolished, by order of the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, and in implementation of decision number 1970/2012 of the Plenary Session of the Council of State.
