Hanningfield Reservoir plane crash victim named by Essex Police
- On December 28 a Beagle B121 Pup struck Hanningfield Reservoir at around 2pm, and after a post-mortem on January 7 police confirmed the body was Peter Beeson, 66, of Bishop's Stortford.
- Essex Police led an extensive multi-agency search involving the Air Accidents Investigation Branch and other specialists, with Metropolitan Police Service divers and Essex and Suffolk Water assisting last year.
- The private Beagle B121 Pup had been flying from North Weald Airfield to Southend Airport, and police believe Mr Beeson was the sole occupant.
- Hanningfield Reservoir remains closed and the visitor centre is shut this week and weekend, Essex Wildlife Trust said, with reservoir managers confirming water supplies were unaffected and Detective Inspector Lydia George offering condolences to Mr Beeson's family.
- Investigators say the inquiry is ongoing as they compile a coroner's file, and Essex Police said no suspicious circumstances have been identified to date.
