Halle Berry Was ‘Absolutely Blindsided’ by Ex-Husband Olivier Martinez’s ‘False’ Child Abuse Claims
Berry says the abuse claims are false and that no medical records, police report or other evidence support Martinez’s allegations.
- On Wednesday, actress Halle Berry, 60, denied allegations she physically abused her 13-year-old son, Maceo, stating she was "absolutely blindsided" by ex-husband Olivier Martinez's domestic violence restraining order obtained on October 1.
- Martinez alleged Maceo told him during a September 26 phone call that Berry had "physically attacked" and "choked" him during an argument, prompting the French actor to seek the restraining order on behalf of himself and their son.
- Berry argued "evidence suggests that has been coached and manipulated by his father," while court documents show no medical reports, police filings, or emergency room visits corroborate the abuse allegations.
- Martinez is seeking sole custody and claims Maceo "wants to speak with the court," but Berry argued requiring the teenager to testify would place him under unnecessary emotional pressure during their contentious dispute.
- Supporting her mother, Nahla Aubry, 18, submitted a declaration stating she has "never observed anything abusive" regarding Berry's parenting, as the former couple navigates their custody conflict over shared 50-50 custody of Maceo.
