GTA 6 advanced weather system: GTA 6 Weather will go beyond sunshine, but fans are waiting for the biggest storm reveal
Game Informer released its cover story featuring Grand Theft Auto VI, detailing an 'advanced' weather system designed to reflect Florida's unpredictable climate across the fictional state of Leonida.
Rockstar Games has emphasized making Leonida feel like a living ecosystem rather than a permanently sunny backdrop, reflecting the studio's broader push toward creating more detailed and reactive open-world environments.
The weather system will bring hurricanes and tropical storms to Leonida with detailed wind effects, while Game Informer confirmed the game features over 170 animal species including more than 60 types of birds and over 30 land mammals.
Players will have access to confirmed activities including base jumping, kayaking, scuba diving, air boating, and street racing, with native and non-native wildlife adding to Leonida's ecosystem feel.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with the physical Game Informer magazine arriving in coming weeks as additional details emerge.
