Power knocked out for nearly 70K in Mass. amid 72 mph wind gusts in heavy rainstorm
Nearly 70,000 customers were without power across Massachusetts on Friday afternoon as a heavy rainstorm walloped the state. As of 1:30 p.m., there were 67,514 outages reported by National Grid, Eversource, Unitil and municipal electrical service providers, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) outage map.
