Indy 500 Brings Back Former NFL Star as Snake Pit Grand Marshal
Gronkowski will work with a global electronic music lineup as organizers bring back the four-time Super Bowl champion for the race-day event.
- On Monday, race organizers named four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski grand marshal of the Indianapolis 500's Coors Light Snake Pit for the second consecutive year. The sold-out race is scheduled for Sunday, May 24 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
- Gronkowski, who won championships with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, called the Snake Pit 'one of the coolest combinations of sports and music out there.' He returned to 'keep the party going' and celebrate the biggest race in the world.
- Grammy-Winning artist Zedd will headline the EDM party at Turn 3, joined by Crankdat and Wooli. The event unites more than 20,000 fans each Race Day morning at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
- Packages for the event range from $145 to $280, with isolated general admission and VIP wristbands available for $85 and $220. Patrons must purchase separate gate admission to access the Snake Pit.
- All Snake Pit ticketholders must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid Indy 500 general admission or reserved seat ticket. Attendees must be prepared to show proper identification to enter.
