GP found dead at home near Sandringham ‘after hosting sleepover’

Detectives have 32 hours of extra detention time as they question a man arrested after the GP’s death.

  • On Sunday, October 4, 2026, police were called to a £800,000 home in Dersingham, where a GP was found dead during a children's sleepover. A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to Lynn Police Investigation Centre.
  • Known locally as Hannah Cain, Hannah Terry was a qualified doctor of 15 years who owned Norfolk Sky Aesthetics, a private aesthetics business. She was hosting the sleepover at her Fern Hill home when the incident occurred.
  • Officers applied to Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court for a warrant of further detention. The warrant grants investigators an additional 32 hours to interrogate the suspect regarding the death.
  • Grimston Medical Centre temporarily closed on Monday due to "extremely difficult circumstances" affecting the practice team. Neighbours paid tributes, describing Terry as "a lovely human being" with three young children.
  • A police cordon remains in place at the property while detectives continue scouring the scene. Officers transferred the other children present at the sleepover to their families following the incident.
