Goyal holds talks with global firms on semiconductors, manufacturing, clean energy
On Monday, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met Netherlands' Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sjoerd Sjoerdsma to discuss expanding Dutch investment in India's manufacturing, infrastructure, and digital technology sectors.
The Netherlands is India's largest source of cumulative FDI equity inflows within the 27-nation European Union, with about USD 58.1 billion invested between April 2000 and June 2026.
Goyal engaged with executives from ASML, Nexperia, Ingka Group, and Power2X to discuss semiconductor innovation, green hydrogen, and supply chain integration across technology-intensive sectors.
FICCI Secretary General Anant Swarup urged concrete project-level follow-up with joint ventures and supplier-development programs to help Indian MSMEs meet international quality and sustainability standards.
Goyal invited his Dutch counterpart to India soon, aiming to advance discussions before the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement is expected to be signed by year-end.
