The federal government proposed a budget above inflation to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) for next year, said Rector Leonardo Lomelí Vanegas.
Rector Lomelí welcomed the fact that the budget allocated to UNAM for 2027 is 1.2% above the estimated inflation, just what was requested.
The 2027 PEF foresees different increases for the country's main public universities; UNAM would have a real increase of 1 percent, while the IPN and the TecNM would receive a growth of 7.1 percent.
