- Under the decree, the measure applies to foreigners arriving before December 31st 2025 with at least five months' residence and no criminal record, and also covers Spanish citizens returning to live in Spain and accompanying family members.
- The right-wing opposition argues the regularisation will encourage illegal immigration, while Sánchez and his coalition say it addresses workforce gaps and demographic issues, given Spain's role as a main entry point for migrants.
