What to Know About Cinemark's 'Bring Your Own Bucket' Promotion

On Jan. 18 and Jan. 19, Cinemark is relaunching a two-day BYOB promotion with Lowe's for National Popcorn Day, returning for a second year of festivities.
Cinemark executives say last year's turnout motivated the return, with Wanda Gierhart Fearing crediting customers' creativity and announcing the Jan. 13, 2026, plans to expand with Lowe's.
With a 400-ounce cap , customers pay $5 plus tax for a one-time fill of popcorn or kettle corn at select Cinemark locations.
From Feb. 1 to Feb. 26, customers with Lowe's blue 5-gallon bucket get coupons, while Cinemark offers online sweepstakes with prizes including a year of free popcorn and 10,000 Movie Rewards points.
Ahead of the event, Cinemark said all buckets must be cleaned and may be refused if unsanitary; blue 5-gallon Lowe's buckets get complimentary food-grade liners upon request, and participants should tag @Cinemark.
