Sora and Google's Nano Banana Pro Are Slammed, So They've Scaled Back Free Videos and Images
Free users now face stricter daily limits on Gemini 3 Pro prompts and Nano Banana Pro images, with some features temporarily unavailable due to high demand and capacity constraints.
- Earlier this month Google started the Gemini 3 Pro rollout on November 18 and updated access limits for Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro in the past few days, per its support document.
- Citing overwhelming demand, Google said `Image generation and editing is in high demand,` and warned limits may change frequently with daily resets to manage capacity.
- Nano Banana Pro image generation is now capped at 2 images per day, down from 3 previously, and if credits run out, it falls back to the standard image model.
- Free accounts now face reduced feature access after NotebookLM on Tuesday temporarily rolled back free Infographics and Slide Decks, removing free users' access while adding limits for Pro users.
- Paid subscribers remain unchanged with AI Pro keeping 100 prompts, 100 image credits, and AI Ultra holding 500 prompts and 1,000 Nano Banana Pro images, while industry trends suggest free limits will not increase.
