Pittsburgh starter Jared Jones left the game after being struck on the right elbow in the third inning, though the Pirates announced initial tests were negative.
Reliever Yohan Ramirez took over in the fourth, tossing two scoreless innings while the Colorado Rockies managed only one hit through six innings against Pittsburgh pitching.
The Pittsburgh Pirates return home to face Seattle on Tuesday with RHP Mitch Keller, while the Colorado Rockies host Boston on Monday as RHP Ryan Feltner opens the series.
