Golden Knights' William Karlsson Out for Game 6 as Hurricanes Lead Stanley Cup Final 3-2
Vegas Golden Knights face elimination in Game 6 without key forward William Karlsson, sidelined by a Game 5 injury, potentially missing the rest of the series.
On Saturday, Vegas Golden Knights coach John Tortorella confirmed center William Karlsson is out for Sunday's Game 6 against the Carolina Hurricanes due to an injury sustained Thursday.
Karlsson left the ice during the second period of Thursday's game after taking a hit from Carolina defenseman Sean Walker, appearing to injure his arm, wrist, or shoulder.
"It's obviously a big miss," teammate Mitch Marner said on Saturday, while Teammate Tomas Hertl called Karlsson an "underrated" player in the NHL.
With Karlsson sidelined, the team may look to veteran forward Brandon Saad or forward Reilly Smith to fill the vacancy, while Tortorella confirmed Carter Hart will start in net.
Vegas faces elimination for the first time in 2026, trailing the best-of-seven series 3-2, as the Hurricanes have scored 21 goals in five games.
