'Get Well Soon' Gogglebox Fans Send Well-Wishes to Star Recovering From Brain Surgery
Shaun Malone said he is finding recovery difficult after a six-hour operation and shared photos of staples on his head.
On Friday, Gogglebox star Shaun Malone shared an update from his hospital bed after undergoing brain surgery, posting a photo of staples on his head and noting the heatwave was a "terrible time" for recovery.
Malone first faced health challenges in 2010 when sinusitis caused a life-threatening brain infection, leading to severe swelling, a two-week coma, and permanent stroke-like damage affecting his left side.
Surgeons performed a six-hour operation to remove a piece of bone from his skull due to swelling, after which he spent six months in hospital learning to walk and talk again.
Fans flooded social media with well-wishes, while his mother Julie Malone and father Tom Malone previously described the terrifying experience when doctors said he had a less than 10 per cent chance of survival.
Malone planned to be discharged home on Friday, June 26, returning to the family he has appeared with on Channel 4's Gogglebox program since 2014.
