Is Antonelli favoured by Mercedes? Wolff responds to latest claims
Wolff said Mercedes gives both drivers equal material and dismissed online claims after Russell’s engine failure and grid penalty fueled speculation.
On Friday at the Singapore Grand Prix, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff rejected claims of favoritism, dismissing suggestions the team is sabotaging George Russell to benefit Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Conspiracy theories emerged after Russell suffered a late engine failure in Malaysia last weekend, forcing the driver into an early power unit change and grid penalty.
Wolff insisted the team provides equal opportunity to both drivers, citing his long-term relationship with Russell and his experience managing Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg as proof of balanced leadership.
Responding to critics, the team principal called the allegations "brainless" and told speculators to "watch Teletubbies" rather than Formula 1, criticizing those hiding behind screens.
With seven rounds remaining, Antonelli leads the championship by 84 points, though both drivers continue receiving equal material as Mercedes maintains competitive integrity.
