On June 26, a military officer fired shots into the air, with the weapon of service, at the facility of the Form Centre the Guard in Portalegre, without causing "any injury or material damage".
The soldier was "officially exempted from the use and carrying of weapons by the GNR itself" due to "psychological and psychiatric problems," but was assigned to an armed duty.
