“There is a shift in society again”: why do boys seek less help with mental problems?
More and more young girls are seeking help for mental problems, in five years that number has increased by more than a quarter. A decrease is noticeable among boys, while twice as many men as women commit suicide. "Macho influencers and not being allowed to talk about feelings, certainly have something to do with that", says Flemish parliamentarian Sofie Mertens (CD&V).
