Ghent is working on new deals with European countries to better collect foreign fines. A collaboration with two international collection agencies for 25 countries has already been in place since 2024, but it is not running smoothly everywhere. Currently, about 14 percent of the fines are collected. An amount of nearly 40 million euros remains outstanding.
