Getty Center closed, evacuation warnings in place for brush fire burning in Sepulveda Pass
On Wednesday, Los Angeles Fire Department crews battled a 5-acre brush fire near the Getty Center and 405 Freeway in Brentwood, with the blaze first spotted shortly after 4 p.m.
High temperatures and humidity across Southern California contributed to conditions favorable for rapid fire spread, with the blaze igniting near Getty Center Drive in the Sepulveda Pass area.
The Fire Department issued evacuation warnings for zones LFD-0895 and LFD-0967, though officials confirmed no structures were immediately threatened by the advancing flames.
Multiple water-dropping aircraft assisted ground crews as smoke covered the Sepulveda Pass, while aerial footage revealed flames burning through dense vegetation above the iconic museum complex.
Firefighters continue managing the active scene as the cause of the fire remains under investigation, with The Fire Department monitoring the hillside blaze for further developments.
