After two years of the Eastern Shield program, initial operational readiness has been achieved in many locations, announced Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He added that approximately €10 billion has already been allocated for activities related to securing the eastern border.
American and British soldiers will soon arrive in Poland, along with their engineering teams, to fortify NATO's eastern flank, announced Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He also announced that 80 French engineers will join the East Shield team. The minister noted that after two years of the East Shield program, initial operational readiness has been achieved in many locations.
Shield East is a program aimed at fortifying the eastern border of the Republic of Poland, but it is intended to be more than just a line of fortifications.
