The first of the 31 new helicopters ordered from the NHIndustries consortium by Germany was delivered to the Ministry of Defence in Berlin. The Sea Tiger opens up new possibilities for maritime combat operations from the air.

With its entry into service, Germany will gradually replace the veteran Mk88A Sea Lynx helicopters in service since 1981.The delivery of the first Sea Tiger also reinforces the industrial and operational relationship between NHindustries and the German Navy, which already operates 18 NH90 Sea Lion helicopters, mainly for search and rescue missions, transport and naval logistical support.
