Genealogical technology leads to arrest in 36-year-old murder of elderly St. Pete woman

Opal Weil, 82, was violently murdered in her St. Petersburg home in 1987. There were no suspects and the case went cold. Detectives reopened the case in 2020 using genealogical technology. They narrowed it down to a suspect, Michael Lapnieswki Jr., who lived a 1/2 mile from Weil.
