Gen Z worry more about aging than Boomers, study reveals
The report says 53% of Gen Z worry about illness or pain in aging, compared with 45% of Boomers, as consumers redefine age around quality of life.
Havas Health Network released a new global report titled 'Superaging' on Wednesday, arguing society is entering a 'Superaging Era' where people actively control how they age rather than passively accepting it.
The shift fuels a global longevity economy estimated at $33 trillion, creating opportunities across industries from food and housing to technology. Eric Weisberg, Global Chief Creative Officer, Havas Health Network, called this 'as big as AI.'
Research shows Gen groups rank illness or pain higher than Boomers, with more than half of Gen citing these as top concerns compared to 45% of Boomers.
Longevity planning has moved mainstream, with 83% of consumers actively preparing for a longer life in at least one way, rising to 95% among Prosumers.
A cross-generational pushback against youth obsession is emerging as Gen groups converge at 54% in their desire for less focus on youth, with 63% of Prosumers wanting less youth-focused content.
