Geely Enters Canadian Market, Plans First Vehicle Sales in 2027
The automaker has started building a dealer and service network and has not yet disclosed models, prices or dealer locations.
On Friday, October 9, 2026, Chinese automaker Geely Auto announced it has entered the Canadian market and plans to introduce its first vehicles to consumers in 2027.
Geely Auto Canada Managing Director Bryan Wu said the company is entering with "a long-term commitment" while establishing local operations and developing a retail and service network.
Regarding product, Geely has not yet confirmed specific models or pricing, though the brand leads globally with the EX5 electric SUV and Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid.
Canada serves as a test case for Chinese automakers competing in a North American market against established brands like Ford, Toyota, and Tesla amid regulatory complexities.
The automaker sold more than 3.02 million vehicles in 2025 and notes its vehicles are on the road in more than 100 countries, with further details coming closer to launch.
