Galvin Booed as Struggling Bulldogs Fall to Tigers
The Tigers snapped a three-game losing streak after a 17,505 crowd booed Lachlan Galvin on every touch at CommBank Stadium.
On Saturday at CommBank Stadium, Wests Tigers defeated the Bulldogs 22-16 in a match where Bulldogs playmaker Lachlan Galvin was relentlessly booed by supporters of his former club.
Nearly a year has passed since Galvin walked out on Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall to join the Bulldogs, but the pain of his acrimonious exit remains evident among Tigers fans.
Buoyed by the return of hooker Api Koroisau and fullback Jahream Bula, the Tigers raced to a 16-6 halftime lead, securing tries through wingers Jeral Skelton and Faaletino Tavana.
Despite a comeback attempt led by Josh Curran, the Tigers held firm when Jarome Luai jolted the ball loose from Sitili Tupouniua in the final minutes to seal victory.
Canterbury has won just 38 per cent of games since Galvin's arrival, with Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo noting that while the booing is tribal, Galvin will become a better player.
