The finance ministers of the G7 countries at a meeting in Canada discussed further measures to increase pressure on Russia to end its war against Ukraine.

The ministers of the G7 Finance discussed ways to increase the financial “open” over Russia and expand funding to Ukraine, according to a joint statement published today after the group meeting. Representatives said they agreed to “speed up discussions” to use Russian assets abroad that are blocked to finance Ukrainian defence, as well as to explore other measures to support Ukraine: “The G7 is committed to stopping the Russian war machine”.
