The group Nosoli, also owner of Decitre, asked on Tuesday 26 May for his placement in judicial reform, leaving fear of a large-scale social plan and the closure of shops. To break the impasse, the company is focusing on accelerating its diversification.
Nosoli, which brings together the Decitre and the Furet du Nord libraries, has 600 employees and 27 shops, including 18 Furet du Nord, located mainly north of Paris.
Faced with a 15% drop in sales since 2021 and the pressure of e-commerce, the Furet du Nord and Decitre bookstores are asking for their placement in court. The procedure, which begins on 1 June 2026, threatens the jobs of the group's 600 employees.
