Before the announcement at 5 p.m. this Tuesday of new aid measures, Sébastien Lecornu reveals that he wants to propose in the 2027 budget a "golden rule" establishing that any VAT surplus generated by the rise in fuel prices is "returned" to the French.
In Matignon's view, this measure would make it possible to redistribute the money which the state takes in addition when the bill for the full increases, and that VAT mechanically follows the same path.
