The cabinet of Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) is not preparing any specific measures to address rising fuel prices at the moment. According to Babiš, fuel prices in our country are still lower than abroad. At its Monday meeting, the government discussed the situation in the Middle East, where hundreds of Czech tourists are stranded, and also approved the coalition amendment on supplementary pension savings.
The government will not do anything about the fuel excise tax for now. "Fuel prices are lower than in Germany or Poland," said Prime Minister Andrej Babiš after the government meeting. "We will see how it develops," said Babiš. According to Finance Minister Alena Schillerová, the Ministry of Finance will observe the development of fuel prices and margins.
