For years, an EU rule made for shaking the head: only citrus products were allowed to be called "marmalade". Everything else, such as marille or strawberry, had to be sold as "confiture". This is now the end. A new directive not only brings back the traditional name, but also ensures more fruit in the glass and more honesty in honey.
