Friday deadline for voter registration before general election
Oklahomans who miss the deadline can still register for future elections, and officials say absentee and early voting start later this month.
Oklahomans had until Friday, October 9, to complete voter registration for the November 3 general elections, though residents can still register online, by mail, or in person at their county election board.
Voters wishing to request an absentee ballot must submit applications by 5 p.m. on October 19, ensuring they are received by the County Election Board or postmarked by that deadline.
Applicants can download forms from the State Election Board website or obtain them at tag agencies, post offices, and public libraries; Oklahoma law requires a current, valid Oklahoma driver license number.
The November 3 general elections will decide the state's next governor, U.S. senator, and various federal and local representatives, alongside State Question 845 regarding the Judicial Nominating Commission and State Question 847 concerning property tax rates.
Early voting runs from October 28 through October 31, while polls open November 3 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., and hand-delivered absentee ballots must arrive at the county election board by close of business the Monday before the election.
