Tomatoes cook on the vine and cereal crops get scorched – climate change is hitting French agriculture, and shoppers are poised to bear the brunt of it. As part of its consideration of the agricultural emergency bill, the Senate approved the derogatory reintroduction of two plant protection products, acetamiprid and flupyradifurone, which are now banned in France but are authorized elsewhere in Europe.
One year after the mobilization against the Duplomb law, the Senate passed on the night of 29-30 June, against the advice of the government, derogations for the use of two neonicotinoids, despite the warnings of the scientists.
