French, British, German leaders to co-chair meeting on Ukraine on Monday

The allies pledged more air defenses and security guarantees as Ukraine reported a sharp drop in Patriot interceptor deliveries, Zelensky said.

  • On Monday, Ukraine's Independence Day, the Coalition of the Willing met in Kyiv to prioritize air defense, co-chaired by UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
  • France and the United Kingdom established the grouping in March 2025 to prepare security guarantees for post-ceasefire Ukraine, and it now includes around 35 countries, with European Council President António Costa and NATO deputy secretary general Radmila Šekerinska joining discussions.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky released classified air-defense data revealing Ukraine received 675 American Patriot interceptors in 2023 and 364 in 2025, with 264 projected for 2026, while Raytheon secured a $22.9 billion contract to boost cruise missile output.
  • Zelensky pushed the European Parliament to adopt legislation releasing €30 billion in EU funding, citing Russia's ballistic missile output of around 100 monthly, while the coalition weighed coordinated measures against the shadow fleet of tankers Russia uses to move sanctioned oil.
  • No American representative attended the summit as Washington remains focused on its own deficit following the war on Iran, while talks on ending the war remain frozen with Moscow holding territorial and political demands that Kyiv has rejected.
