Pedestrian Dead After Hit-and-Run in Langley, Police Say
Police say the pedestrian died at the scene, and investigators have closed the road while the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service assists.
On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Langley RCMP responded to a fatal hit-and-run on Fraser Highway between 232 Street and 240 Street shortly after 4:30 a.m.
Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP confirmed the driver and vehicle fled the scene, while the pedestrian died despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service deployed to assist the investigation as authorities closed the highway for several hours before reopening it to motorists.
Langley RCMP are requesting witnesses or those with dashcam footage to contact 604 532 3200 and reference file #2026 14967 when speaking with officers.
The fatal incident remains under active review by Langley RCMP, who continue urging road users to remain vigilant as the investigation proceeds.
