France’s Bayeux Tapestry closes to public
Art and history lovers have until August 31 this year to view France’s Bayeux Tapestry before the museum exhibiting it closes for renovations. The Grand Seminary of Bayeux, where the eleventh century tapestry has hung since 1983, will remain shut for two years whilst the work takes place. Last year almost 600,000 people visited the Bayeux Museums in north-western France from all over the world. Source
