France Has Made Its Choice, and Thundart, From Safran and MBDA, Will Be His Next Long-Range Missile.
The Thundart missile, developed by Safran and MBDA, has just been officially notified by the Directorate General of Armaments to be France's next long-range ground strike system. ArianeGroup and Thales have been ruled out.
MBDA and Safran Electronics & Defense have announced the notification by the French Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA) concerning the long-range Earth attack program. The two companies will supply the Thundart solution to the Armée de Terre, which will renew the French tactical attack capacity in depth replacing the LRU (Lance-Roquettes Unitaire) system, the U.S. M270 MLRS not modernised....
