Foxconn working on a new tie-up with OpenAI, says there is no AI bubble
On Friday, Foxconn Chairman Young Liu announced a new collaboration with OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman, though details of the partnership remain scant.
This potential deal builds upon a 2025 agreement between the two firms to collaborate on engineering data-center racks, components, and other AI hardware.
The company's cloud and networking products segment, which includes AI servers, accounted for 51% of second-quarter revenue in August, exceeding 50% for the first time.
Foxconn operates six factory buildings in Houston, Texas, where it manufactures AI servers for Nvidia, with Chairman Liu indicating a need for further expansion.
Chairman Liu stated the industry is not in a bubble and Foxconn expects to maintain double-digit growth through next year amid rising investment concerns.
