MEXICO CITY — Mexico has been a major oil producer for more than a century, but its lack of refining capacity creates a quandary: The country must import much of its gasoline and diesel from the United States.
Mexican authorities reported Tuesday that they dismantled four clandestine refineries, in which they seized almost a million liters of illegal derivatives.
The Office of the Attorney-General of the Republic (FGR) dismantled four clandestine fuel centres in San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo and Morelos, within the framework of the National Strategy against Hydrocarbon Robbery.
