Wildfires Near Clinton Now over 213,000 Hectares, Remain Out-of-Control
BC Wildfire Service has assigned 415 firefighters, 234 structure protection personnel and 102 heavy equipment units as crews work to hold the perimeter.
- The Big Bar complex wildfires near Clinton remain out of control, covering almost 200,000 hectares as of Saturday, including The Pear Lake at 136,485 hectares, The French Bar Creek at 39,044 hectares, and The Rim Lake at 4,795 hectares.
- Throughout this past week, fire behaviour remained largely fuel-driven as ongoing drought kept vegetation highly receptive to ignition. Without stronger winds, the fire advanced one to three kilometres daily across much of the perimeter.

- Hydro crews successfully re-energized the Village of Clinton on Friday after two weeks without power, replacing approximately 200 destroyed power poles and stringing more than six kilometres of line to restore critical infrastructure.
- Evacuation orders and alerts from the Village, Thompson-Nicola Regional District, Cariboo Regional District, and First Nations remain in effect with no anticipated rescission date, as personnel continue patrolling properties to monitor for new hotspots.
