Former Texas state trooper alleges racial profiling, unconstitutional stop by Alabama police
A former Texas Department of Public Safety trooper is alleging that he and his family were the victims of an unlawful traffic stop and racial profiling by Saraland police officers in 2024.The federal complaint was filed June 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama by the former trooper, Joel Chapa, his then pregnant wife, Dalila Chapa, and members of their family that were present during the stop including children.
