Former Strictly Star to Return in 2026 After Injury Forced Her to Quit
Dyer said she is excited for a second chance after a fractured ankle forced her out of the 2025 series before it began.
On Thursday, BBC Strictly Come Dancing announced that TV personality Dani Dyer is returning to compete in the 2026 series, marking the second celebrity confirmation for the show.
Dyer previously joined the 2025 cast but withdrew shortly after the launch show due to a fractured ankle, though she expressed excitement about her comeback.
The BBC revealed EastEnders legend Lacey Turner as the first contestant on Wednesday, with Dyer joining Turner as the second official cast member confirmed.
Broadcaster Emma Willis, comedian Josh Widdicombe, and professional dancer Johannes Radebe will host the 2026 series, replacing long-standing presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The competition returns to BBC One and iPlayer this September, with the network planning to reveal additional celebrity participants throughout the summer.
