Former police chief Raúl Alfaro was ordered to close the Congress in 2022, but he arranged to ensure its functioning and arrest the former president.
The retreating Lieutenant General PNP led the institution between August 2022 and March 2023. During the trial against the former President he related the orders he received on December 7, 2022 and explained why he decided that the Police should guarantee the functioning of the Parliament.
At the age of 60, I died on September 30, the former commander general of the PNP, Ra l Alfaro, who ordered the arrest of Pedro Castillo after the announcement of the closure of the Congress, in December 2022.
“Evidently, there was a flagrant and breaking crime of the Constitution,” he declared during a trial session open to Castillo.
