Barbara Cesar Siero, former magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice, claims that several of her relatives were arrested to force her to sign a document declaring the Nobel Peace Prize 2025 ineligible, before the presidential election of 2024.
A former judge of the Supreme Court of Venezuela stated on Thursday that she had been forced to sign the document declaring the opponent Maria Corina Machado ineligible in the presidential election of 2024. The party of the latter demanded an urgent investigation and the "immediate" lifting of her ineligibility.
"What my family and my sister-in-law have lived through shows conclusively how the regime used arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance, torture and cruel and inhuman treatment against my brothers and sister-in-law as a ruinous tool of coercion and political blackmail."
