Some tourist access to Mount Bromo from the Jemplang and Coban Trisula entrances in Malang Regency and Senduro, Lumajang Regency, has been closed due to forest fires.
More than 5,000 forest fires have been detected in Indonesia as of mid-July. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency announced that the fires have exceeded the levels seen during previous El Niño periods.
